Hand written correspondence is a rarity anymore. You can still find letters tucked away in envelopes at stamp stores. I never had the patience to learn the detail necessary for good stamp collecting. Still, I found myself seeking out stamp stores enjoying the art of found stamps, envelopes, and correspondence. Taking them home, they began to fill boxes, me not knowing quite what to do with them. Then I realized that with paint and some found art images, I could help draw out the essence of the hand written letters and words on paper. It felt to me like an honoring of someones thoughts, love, adventures, or commerce. The only memory of which were the paper it was on, read by me a stranger.
