“Reality leaves a lot to the imagination” - John Lennon
We all hope for more than there is sometimes. The right beach, the unique in small towns, the special city walk. Artists always wrestle with this. Early on, photographers pushed the recorded image in a darkroom or with special lighting to create emotional impact. Painters brushed beyond the confines of realism to create impressionistic and modernism in their work. The abstract expressionism of Pollock and De Kooning were the antithesis of this imaginative wandering.
Today you can create almost any scene you want with software and applications. Creating a new reality in the world we see. One that sometimes helps leave behind the raw edges of life, emerging into something more grand, full of wonder and thoughts far away….
